Connect your tools

Some steps need a browser or a key that only you should hold. Your assistant does not take the key. It asks Noci AI for a link with setup_handoff, and you finish the step on that page.

  • The link opens a page in Noci that is for one step.
  • It works for 30 minutes. If it has run out, ask your assistant for a new one.
  • You must be signed in to Noci, and these steps are for admins. If you are not one, the page tells you which step to ask an admin for, and offers nothing to press.
  • When you have finished, your assistant asks Noci again with setup_status to see that the step is done.

Your assistant gives you a link to install Noci in your Slack workspace. You approve it in Slack.

An alert source is what your monitoring tool sends its alerts to. Your assistant gives you a link to a page where you create one.

If you already use another on-call tool, connect it so Noci can read it. Your assistant asks Noci which tools it can convert from, and whether each one is connected. Noci only reads from these tools. It never changes them.

You connect with a key made in that tool. Make it a read-only key where the tool allows one.

ToolThe key
PagerDutyA general access REST API key, made read-only. An admin or the account owner in PagerDuty can make one.

For the steps after connecting, see Convert from PagerDuty.

You paste the key into the page Noci opens, not into the chat. From that page it goes into the connection. It is not shown again.
