Agents and actions: workflows, tools and Ask first
Noci AI's agents follow workflows you build, step by step. You can connect your own MCP servers as tools the agents use. For each step you choose whether an agent asks before it acts. A person's confirmation is how an action proposed in Slack runs, and it runs under that person's role.
What are agent workflows?
A workflow is the sequence of steps an agent follows when something happens, such as an alert arriving. You build it yourself, one step at a time, so the agent works the way your team already works.
Which tools can an agent use?
Agents use the tools you connect: your monitoring, code, chat and support tools, listed on the integrations page. You can also connect your own MCP servers, so the agents can use tools that are specific to your company, such as an internal service, and not only the ones Noci AI ships with.
Who decides what an agent does?
You do, and you decide it where it matters: at each step. You choose, step by step, whether an agent asks before it acts. A step that touches something important can ask first. A step that only reads can go ahead.
In Slack, an action Noci proposes appears as a Confirm card, and it runs only when a person confirms it, under that person’s role. See incident response in Slack.
How to decide which steps should ask is covered in human-in-the-loop for incident agents, and how to try an agent before it goes near on-call is in how to evaluate an incident agent.
Where do agents fit in an incident?
Agents work through the whole incident: they triage and investigate the alert, read from the Context Lake, and the AI voice agent can phone the engineer. The workflow is what ties those steps together.
