AI incident response in Slack

Noci AI runs an incident in Slack. Each declared incident gets its own channel and can have a meeting link, and Noci keeps the room's summary current. Ask it a question and it answers from the thread. An action it proposes runs only when a person confirms. When the incident resolves, Noci writes a postmortem draft.

What happens when an incident is declared?

The incident gets a room, and Noci keeps it in order while people work.

  • A channel for the incident. Declaring an incident opens a Slack channel for it, so the conversation, the findings and the decisions sit in one place.
  • A meeting link. Each incident can have a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link, so people who need to talk can.
  • Summaries as it moves. The room gets periodic summaries while the incident runs, and a final summary when it ends. Someone who joins late reads where things stand instead of scrolling.
  • Status drafts. Noci drafts the status updates, and a person posts them.

What can you ask Noci in Slack?

Ask Noci in the channel, in plain words. It answers, reads the thread it was asked in, and remembers what it was asked, so the next question can build on the last one. Examples of what you might ask:

  • What changed in the last hour before this alert?
  • Has this alert fired before, and what happened then?
  • Where does the investigation stand?

What Noci reads during an incident is on the Context Lake page.

Who decides what Noci does?

Noci can propose an action in the thread. The proposal is a Confirm card. The action runs only when a person confirms it, and it runs under that person’s role.

Separately, for the agents that work an alert, you choose, step by step, whether an agent asks before it acts. See agents and actions.

What is left when the incident ends?

When an incident resolves, Noci writes a postmortem draft: the narrative and the root cause. A person reviews it and finishes it. Not available yet: Full postmortems with timeline and action items Coming.

For why the review stays with people, see what an AI can draft and what a team decides.

Where does an incident start?

Before the room, there is an alert. Noci triages it as it arrives, and paging goes out at once. Schedules and escalation policies decide who is reached (on-call), and the AI voice agent can phone the engineer (the AI call). The room is where all of that comes together. For channel habits that hold up, read incident channels in Slack and Teams.

Does Noci work in Microsoft Teams?

Noci AI pages through Microsoft Teams, and each incident can have a Teams, Zoom or Google Meet link.

Does Noci write a postmortem draft?

Yes. When an incident resolves, Noci writes a draft with the narrative and the root cause, for your team to review and finish.
